You’re given a couple of dragon eggs to hatch and a small piece of land. Your aim is to successfully hatch these dragon eggs and breed them into full-fledged dragons. This will increase your DragonVale popularity and drawing people from all different sides of the world. It is pretty much a fantasy themed equivalent of a Jurassic Park where instead of dinosaurs you are breeding dragons. Unlike dinosaurs, dragons have “elemental affinity” of sorts and they can be classified as either.
- Frost
- Fire
- Earth
- Jungle
What this means is that you can actually place a fire Dragon in an icy tundra and expects it to develop properly and generate coin. Not only that but this “elemental affinity” plays a vital role in Dragon breathing. Pairing up different kinds of dragons will naturally yield different results.
You can pair any two dragons that you want. When this happens, dragons will go to the breeding cave where they will, well breed. It is not entirely known what’s going on inside during that time but what is known is that every time it happens, you will need to wait a specific amount of time until you get new dragon egg. This dragon egg will then need to be incubated in the hatchery to see what kind of dragon it turns out to be.
Oh, and do stay away from the breeding cave unless you want to be snuggled to death by flying hearts.
When it comes down to breeding part, it’s all about trial and error. This can be both entertaining and frustrating at the same time depending on how fond of experimenting you’re feeling today.
Luckily, not every aspect of this game can be watered down to your luck and experimentation. Among other things you’ll be watching timers a lot.
