In our recent 2025 product roadmap, we introduced a major theme driving our platform development this year: making enterprise-scale team management seamless. Among the priorities outlined, User Management was front and center (and for good reason).

Global enterprise security teams are growing, diversifying, and working cross-functionally more than ever before. Whether you're onboarding 500+ SOC analysts, enabling developers with code security labs, or running threat emulation programs simulations across teams, one thing is clear:

“The easier it is to manage your users, the more time they can spend actually building skills and achieving important security objectives for the whole organization.”

– Mike Giannakopoulos, Senior Product Lead @ Hack The Box

Today, we are excited to reveal a brand new User Management interface on the Hack The Box Enterprise Platform, designed to unlock scale, flexibility, and efficiency for large organizations.

Enterprise scale, without the admin headache

We designed this release to tackle a critical need: managing cybersecurity workforce development at scale without being buried in admin work. This new interface is purpose-built to significantly reduce admin time and support:

  • Large teams of 500+ members. Global enterprises have complex security departments with 10 to 14 specialized teams across offensive and defensive domains.

  • Cross-functional management between security teams, developers, IT, and security-adjacent roles to foster assessments across the organization.

  • Mass operations at the speed of light by assigning roles, permissions, training, and communication in bulk while keeping the high level of customization and curriculum management capabilities.

Ultimately, this means less time configuring, and more time training. Security leaders can spend their time where it matters: aligning talent to real-world threats, not drowning into license management.

New features managers will love

Let’s dive into the specific features and enhancements making this all possible. Each facet is designed to simplify how you manage teams, roles, and access across the platform.

Improved selection and filtering: Quickly find the users you need. Filter by name, role, or lab access to surface precise user cohorts instantly.

Easier and more intuitive user selection:
A redesigned interface focused on clarity to select individuals or groups (coming soon after the first release) with minimal clicks and total visibility.

Batch role assignments:
Assign or change user roles across hundreds of accounts in one action. No more repetitive work, your SOC or pentesting team will be ready in seconds. Admins can now also copy/paste in the search field up to 50 emails, and filter by those emails the whole list–a massive time saver if the admin already knows the list of emails they’re interested in managing.

Batch Space assignments:
Push training content at scale. Assign multiple users to multiple Spaces (across all available labs) simultaneously.

Communicate directly with selected users:
Send messages directly to selected users inside the platform and streamline coordination before a simulation, exercises, or program launch.

More user info and visibility:
See user roles, team assignments, and other useful data at a glance. Gain the context you need to lead effectively.

Coming next on User Management

The best news? This is just the beginning; there are already a bunch of improvements and features lined up and ready to be released in the next few weeks. These iterations will bring even more powerful capabilities to the table, including:

  • Filtering and sorting by team, addition date (“added by”), and seat assignment.

  • Seat expiration sorting.

  • Export filtered users to .csv for further filtering and management locally.

  • Options remove users from the organization in bulk.

  • Shareable links of interface views (where filters and search options can be applied). Another quality of life-saver for multiple admins within the same organization.

In addition, we are committed to enhance the existing Azure SSO integration and continue to expand the list of supported SSO providers. Enterprise user management is becoming smarter, faster, and more integrated with every release.
