Release the screen and your ship returns to the starting position at the middle of the screen. These controls are used to navigate around your path,evade incoming objects like comets and asteroids and collect light energy pickups along the way.
It is generally a good idea to train yourself to avoid these incoming dangers. At first it will be fairly easy to do so by later on, you will be in some pretty sticky situations which force you to utilize everything you’ve learned so far and perhaps even use your laser to make your way true an asteroid field. To shoot your laser you will need to have enough light energy. Light energy can be collected throughout the level and is used for upgrading your ship as well as for firing your laser.
