These characters can be customized and will have special attacks. There is a unique system that involves characters “type” and you might need some time to get familiar with this. This is nothing major and similar to the elements in other RPG games, it’s all about one type working better against the other one.
Developers also managed to make things a little bit more interesting by allowing you to chain perfect combos. This is both simple and tricky to pull off at the same time and here’s how it works:
Every time you attack an enemy, words will pop up (similar to how sound effects are displayed in comic books) around them. You’ll want to issue an attack order to your next character approximately in the middle of the current attack.
Doing so will score you a perfect chain and allow you to do increased damage on your next attack. Tapping sooner or later will still damage the enemy but will only give you a “good” or “great” score rather than a “perfect” one and there wont be any extra damage either.
Once your health reaches zero, it will obviously trigger a game over screen. You can avoid this by consuming the meat that the enemies might drop sometimes. There are some specific conditions that need to be met before you’ll be able to consume it and they revolve around your combos and how good (or in this case not so good) you chain them but, let’s leave something for you to figure out on your own.
If you do hit zero health with all of your characters, you can retry the stage by consuming a rainbow gem. Rainbow gems are of course the games premium currency and they have a lot of different appliances.
- Retrying a level is one of them.
- You may want to save up and use five of them at a tavern to get a rare character.
- The same currency is also used to purchase additional character slots.
- Rainbow Gems are great for refilling stamina as well , allowing you to continue playing the game.
